You would have recieved your invite, bridge number, and access code via email.
Some problems we’ve been experiencing:
- Call volume has been high on recent open calls. Not everyone was able to ask their questions, so make sure you’re on early.
- Whenever we have downloads for the call, not everyone is able to get them because too many people were trying to download them at the same time.
So in an attempt to help things go more smoothly for you, we’re making the downloads available here:
NOTE: This Adobe document is password protected. You WILL need the PASSWORD the was included in your reminder email. Please download your map BEFORE the call! That way everyone will have access and it won’t crash the server.
* Please keep in mind that this is a confidential document for your personal use as member of the Business owners Coaching Club.”
Important: You must have Adobe Reader 7.0 or higher to properly view this document. You can download the newest Adobe reader for FREE. Just click the icon below:

Kathleen,
The link to download your handout for today’s TeleClass is titled:
Marketing Matrix Maps
It’s towards the bottom of the post, just before the “NOTE”
Remember - you need your private student password delivered via email in order to open up this confidential document. We’re revealing blog marketing strategy secrets - thus the need for this exclusive access for students and Coaching Club Members ONLY.
(I’ll go in there later and insert some type of icon so it stands out next time. Thanks!)

What are the strategies and thinking behind posting this publically and using the blog in conjuntion with the call
May 10th, 2006 at 9:12 am
What plug in did you use for the approval for posting…
May 10th, 2006 at 9:19 am
You’re right on target with the next generation market! My college daughter lives by text messaging!
btw: I love the plugin feature you used for students to post comments during this LIVE teleclass. Can you tell us how to get this plugin or program for our business blog?
May 10th, 2006 at 9:21 am
Like that Ann?
We’ll post that particular blog plugin secret in your Private Student site at:

What was the third screen JP mentioned
May 10th, 2006 at 9:30 am
Yes I did JP… great plug in
May 10th, 2006 at 9:44 am
Where is omynews?
URL???
May 10th, 2006 at 9:55 am
What post is JP talking about now?
May 10th, 2006 at 9:56 am
Cynthia,
We were referring to blog post:
titled:
Blog, Podcasts, Vlogs, and More … What New Media Marketing is All About
during your LIVE teleclass today on blogging and the New Media.
May 10th, 2006 at 9:57 am
How important will vlogging really be with bandwidth limitations and the potential lag in producing a “watchable” video?
May 10th, 2006 at 9:57 am
Wise question Craig.
Hope JP gave this some additional thought in the LIVE teleclass today.
To highlight the tips,
THINK: Short & Sweet & to the point.
Video on your blog doesn’t have to be long. Create or link to 3-5 minute videos when you’re Vlogging.
That way, if it’s good content, people will be happy to wait a minute to get the video from your Vlog - if that’s what you consistently give them.
Think innovately re: getting over any hurdles or bandwidth limitations and the potential lag in producing a “watchable” video on your Vlog.
What could you or one of our students CREATE to overcome this for your readers?
oooooh - what a great product/service/business idea!

What is diffrence between wiki and a forum?
Thanks
Joe
May 10th, 2006 at 10:20 am
Answering LIVE on the call now - but here’s a quick way to remember the difference between a wiki and a forum.
Think:
Internet Forum:
String of comments listed in the order posted
Based on the one topic that initiates the conversation.
Can’t be edited.
Wiki
“Project Board that’s ALIVE”
Any part of the content posted can be edited, pulled, linked to by any member involved.
You can keep the project up to date for years into the future

what other networking communities are out there besides Ryze?
May 10th, 2006 at 10:21 am
Ann,
One particular networking community similar to Ryze would be:
eCademy
I’ve been paying for premium membership on both these networking sites, and admittedly, I’ve been guilty of not getting there enough in the past few months due to live speaking engagements and consulting clients.
But when I was actively posting, answering questions about business blogging, etc, it was a wonderful place to help other business owners and let them know about the Marketing With Business Blogs course that you are participating in.

Are blogging names as hard to get as URL?
May 10th, 2006 at 10:34 am
Joe,
If you’re referring to securing domain names for your blog site, it would be the same.
However, if you redirect your blog to a sub-directory on your main web site, you can use any keyword phrase you’d like for your blog page - because you already own the URL main domain name.
We can elaborate the complexities of this strategy in the LIVE call you’re participating in right now…
May 10th, 2006 at 10:34 am
what is a name squeez page?
May 10th, 2006 at 10:35 am
Great question Bill,
To put it simply:
A “Name Squeeze Page” or a “Name Capture Page” on a web site is a page that prevents visitors to see your site, and your content UNTIL they exchange their email address and name to gain access.
This could be used for a number of reasons, either to build your list of prospects/clients(most popular) or to create exclusive access and create buzz to get to your private, membership driven site “behind the scenes” - as in, behind the name capture page.
Let’s talk more about strategy for your sales consulting business in your next mastermind in the Business Owner’s Coaching Club.
Shall we?

Ann,
The “3rd Screen” can be seen in any mall in America just by observing a group of teenagers - playing with their camera phone, cell phone, ipod, psp, etc.
May 24th, 2006 at 9:54 am
The “sheep” training worked a couple of decades ago becuase the marketplace did not change very quickly. It doesn’t work today because major shifts occur in the market place during the time period of a 4-year college education. Entire industries are created and dismantled from the time a freshman begins college before he/she will graduate.

As John-Paul talks about Glenn Reynold’s Book, An Army of Davids, talking about putting independence and freedom at the root of free enterprise for the small business owner…
I can almost hear Mel Gibson in the back of my mind, from the scene in Braveheart - his horse trots back and forth in front of his ready and able troops, in need of some motivation:
Oh, and here’s the link where you can pick up Glenn’s book directly through Amazon:
May 24th, 2006 at 9:58 am
LOL!! Sheeple! Yes! I love it Ann!
May 24th, 2006 at 10:00 am
I’m assuming this is good…
I just noticed that Internet Marketing NewsWatch is picking up and featuring my blog post on time management.
yeah!!!
It’s working! It’s working!
May 24th, 2006 at 10:01 am
And YES!!!! That’s fantastic IM News Watch featured your blog and blog post!
Yippppeeee!!!
Thanks for sharing a student WIN here
Congrats! And Keep it up!
I can see you’re going to be a “Star Student” very quickly.
And since this is an INTERNET Classroom - it’s based on Innovation AND timely strategies - so no worries about finding sheeples in this TeleCourse! LOL

Another great book that discusses the philosophy of how the ‘little guy’ has the advantage today is ‘The Next Millionaires’ by Paul Zane Pilzer.
May 24th, 2006 at 10:03 am
You got it Simon!
And when you consider the beauracracy of getting changes to text books of high schoolers and colleges alike, you’re really talking about a delay in “practical learning” for “the real world.”
Plus - small business owners need to DIFFERENTIATE themselves from their competitors, which does NOT work when everyone is following the same strategy, system.
May 24th, 2006 at 10:04 am
Great book and author recommendation Simon!
Simon says, get ‘
“The Next Millionaires” by Economist/Entrepreneur, Paul Zane Pilzer.
:+D
And I couldn’t agree more!
You know I couldn’t resist that one, right? lol

Can JP repeat 4 & 5? Talks to fast
May 24th, 2006 at 10:13 am
Law #4: Listen & Observe
both Actively - like at a party
and Passively - like in a focus group
May 24th, 2006 at 10:17 am
Law #5: Always write your blog posts, comments IN CONTEXT
In other words, it’s rude to join a blogging “conversation” and just interject something that has no relavance to the topic at hand.
Think of a party - if someone joins an existing conversation and just tells them about something THEY’re interested in - or WORSE, something they’re SELLING (oi!) you’d consider that not only rude, but a little locco too - right?
May 24th, 2006 at 10:21 am
lol Ann!
I hear ya’!
Now you’re seeing John-Paul’s New York City / East Coast upbringing.
(oh yeah, AND you’re seeing his “High D communication style” in action - like we were just talking about in last week’s call in the Business Owner’s Coaching Club.
May 24th, 2006 at 10:32 am
You and JP recommend so many great books… how about a recommended reading section in the BOCC?
BTW… I suffer from fast talking too
May 24th, 2006 at 11:02 am
Another great book mentioned in today’s TeleClass on New Media Marketing that we highly recommend is:
The Virtual Handshake: Opening Doors And Closing Deals Online written by our good friend Scott Allen and David Teten.
You can click on that link and it’ll bring you directly to the Amazon page where you can pick up his book.
His book will help to give you a solid history and understanding of networking online, and how you can leverage your business blogging efforts using social and business networking groups online such as Ryze, eCademy, Craig’s List, LinkedIn, etc.
May 24th, 2006 at 11:05 am
Any other great books on New Media Marketing or the New Media in general you’re all aware of?
List your recommendations here here so we can all pick up a copy.
And here’s how you’re seeing “The Age of Communication” play out where you’re ALL contributors.
BTW: Ann, Yes, we’ll put a list of Top 10 books we recommend in the private forums section in the BOCC Club for you as well.
