If you’ve ever seen the movie “Karate Kid” you remember early in the movie where Mr. Miyagi had Daniel (played by Ralph Macchio) paint fences, wax his car, and complete a bunch of tasks seemingly unrelated to his main goal.

Daniel didn’t recognize at the time how those repetitive tasks and basic training would serve him later on in competition. It wasn’t until he reached the advanced levels of international competition where everything came together and “clicked.”

Our intent is to do some of those same things here. Now, while I’d love to have you come wax our cars and trucks here in Hawaii (and I’m sure you wouldn’t mind either :-) ) — that’s not going to be necessary.

Establishing a foundation for successful business blogging is nowhere near that difficult. If you’ve already set up your my.yahoo.com reader and FeedDemon Aggregator you’ve got a good start.

With careful competitive research, tracking of your favorite “a list” bloggers, and development of a composite blogging profile to model — you’re gaining a perspective that critical to your business blogging success.

Now the next step, is to get you out practicing and applying as you learn. Like any sport, skill, or venture the simplest, at least confusing environment is to bless place to start. That’s why for this training video we’ve chosen Blogger.com to show you how to set up your first blog.

Blogger is not the most robust blogging software out there, and it’s a “third party hosted blog” which has some drawbacks as well. But simplicity is what we’re after here. We want you up and blogging as quickly as possible, with few barriers to slow you down or prevent you from taking action.

And for you results driven, high achieving entrepreneurs – don’t worry — there’s another all ulterior motive to using Blogger. No need to focus on that right now, but trust me it can be a big plus. When you’re ready to step it up to the next level, you can learn how to use this to give your business blogs a head start right out of the gate in the “ How to Master Business Blogging” telecourse and video series.

HERE’S YOUR VIDEO: You can be blogged in 600 seconds! Take 10 minutes and follow along: how to set up your first blog video.

As Mr. Miyagi would say – follow through “blogger-san’”! :-)
