New Media Marketing Resources

All my WordPress sites are down,” the panicked voice came over the phone. “I was just facilitating an advisory board meeting with Mark Victor Hansen, and nothing was where it was supposed to be!“, he continued.

The call was from my good friend Paulie Sabol. A close confidant of Mark Victor Hansen and Robert Allen. He was red-faced and there was nothing that could be done. It was too late. Like Dorothy dropped in Oz, he felt lost and confused.

This is just one of the many horror stories I’ve heard when business people eagerly jump into the New Media Marketplace.

What if you were to hear things like:

    - 40,000 comment spams on one blog (yes, you read that right, forty-thousand,)
    - More than 30-hours per month, just to keep up with technological updates
    - The utter failure of countless business people to get any results with New Media marketing

You’d probably begin to think that growing your business with run-of-the-mill New Media strategies is no cake-walk. And you’d be right… IF you fell for the fairytales told by interruption marketers and New Media evangelists alike.

Floundering around the New Media marketplace trying this and that, or following the “expert” advice of self-appointed (Socialist) media experts will bring you not only pain, wasted time, and disappointment. It will lead you to the poor house.

Luckily there is a smarter way to win massive amounts of new business marketing with New Media. Getting tons of new traffic, customers, and sales really can be pushbutton easy when you know how to get past all the B.S.

Here in the continuing BLOG i360™ Preview radio series you can listen in as influence master Paulie Sabol, ex-Google AdWords chief Simon Leung, persuasion expert Kenrick Cleveland, and fitness leader, The Fit Bastard, share their mistakes in marketing with New Media… and how they overcame them. You’ll learn things like:

    - How to painlessly start over from ground zero after a crushing defeat
    - How to avoid costly errors and the loss of marketing dollars
    - How to get four-times the sales conversions you could otherwise get with the best online marketing methods (and why that is)

As you listen to every word of this podcast you will become amazed at how easy it will be to grow your business using the same New Media marketing strategies that are revealed.

OK, get this. Deb and I are on Kauai today facilitating at a corporate retreat with executives from all around the Pacific Rim.

new media marketing retreat kauai hyatt

I’m sitting at breakfast this morning and I see these two women heading straight for my table, and they’re clearly on “a mission.”

Now since my beautiful wife was not with my guest and I, my mind raced trying to figure out what they could want. As they reached our table, they both sat down, crossed their arms, and said to me; “We’ve got a bone to pick with you.”

OK, so now I’m wondering to myself; “What the heck did I do now?” But when one woman blurted out; “You’re a tease“, my mind quickly jumped to how I’d explain to Deb why these two lovely ladies had taken her seat.

“KAPLOW”, “BLAM”, “WACK”…. I imagined all the comic book-like action clouds showing up over our table.

Well, after relishing what I’m sure was a very shocked look on my face, they started laughing and continued.

You can imagine my relief when they said they wanted to know when BLOG i360 was going to be ready for the public. You see, they were both sales executives with the firm whose retreat we are facilitating at. And these women were eager to get their sales teams using the online TV capability of BLOG i360™ New Media Marketing system, especially its’ “A.V. Action Motivator” to close more accounts.

After LMAO, I explained to them what was going on.

But that got me to thinking. I’ve been so focused on our business development and some extensive New Media Marketing strategies for a few consulting clients that I realized I haven’t updated anyone on what’s going on with BLOG interactive360™.

Well, here it is.

The delay in a full scale release of BLOG i360™ has nothing to do with BLOG i360™ itself. I has to do with problems with the original software we chose to run the membership area. I’m rather frustrated, because after having our programmers spend over 200-hours trying to get the software to do what we wanted for members, we had to ditch it.

Franco and our programming team are hard at work for the last week building a brand new membership site from the ground up. It could be up to another 10-days before it ready, but we felt it was definitely worthwhile in the long run.

The BLOGinteractive360.com site is still live, since we had some VIPs who claimed their Founding 500 beta memberships and we need to keep the site open for them. And we’ve had new sign ups coming in every day even without any marketing, which is a good. :)

But we’re still holding off on all major marketing, affiliate sales, and our Joint Venture partnerships until the new membership site is up.

You’re welcome to claim your Founding 500 beta membership and lock in your low lifetime membership rate at BLOGinteractive360.com, to make sure you have a spot. Or you can watch for the announcement when the new membership site is up and running.

Make it a great weekend! :)

When you want to get the most out of your New Media marketing, it’s often a good idea to see what’s already on the mind of the public already. If there’s something causing a buzz and it’s related to your niche, or if you can use it to engage your Tribe, you want to know about it.

Google just launched a handy new module for iGoogle that helps. If you already have a Google account, you can grab the trends module here. And if you don’t have iGoogle, you can get an account for free here.

With a few quick clicks you can scan the top searches, news stories, images, videos, and top sites.

Marketing with New Media is more than business blogging. Much more! But what’s a busy business person like you supposed to do if you aren’t ready to start Podcasting. Or what if you just don’t have the time to create Podcasts as a New Media marketing channel. Well, there are ways for you to stop missing out on exposure to tens of millions of people.

Have you seen pictures of the Parthenon in Greece? Built 400 years before Christ, it still stands today. Have you ever thought how that’s possible? How a structure can stand for over 2400 years? It’s a testament to the wise combination of engineering, materials, and strategy.

Like the Parthenon, your New Media Marketing strategy has major and minor pillars. (or it should! :) )

Four New Media Marketing Pillars

The four main pillars are; blogs, Podcasts, social networks, and online video. And each of these has numerous supporting pillars as well.

The point is, if you fell for the hype that you can throw up a blog for your business and you’re going to gather a Tribe of raving fans who are hungry for your products or services — you probably already realize that you’re in for major disappointment.

When you create a New Media Marketing strategy using multiple pillars you’ve got stability. And you’ve got multiple channels to gather a Tribe on your front lawn.

Audio Podcasting — essentially creating your own online radio station — is a main pillar for two reasons.

The practical; people don’t want to sit in front of their computer all day.

The psychological; a large percentage of people prefer to listen instead of reading or watching. Fail to provide them the channel they prefer and you’ll fail to keep them around.

Podcasting made easy

Now, if you want to succeed in maximizing the reach of your message without creating a persona and shtick for your Podcast — you can auto-Podcast. It’s simple and completely painless.

All you need is (more…)

Warning: taking action will cost you nothing. But waiting to read this WILL cost you money, position, and power.

Over the weekend Deb got a special invitation to check out this great new tool for marketing with New Media. I heard about this at our friend Mike Filsame’s Seven Figure Seminar earlier this year, and I’ve been chomping at the bit for the beta launch ever since.

Well, now it’s out in beta and you’re one of the first people to know about it.

If you’ve read ‘Secrets of Online Persuasion‘ or have graduated from one of our New Media coaching programs, then you understand the online persuasion power of video on New Media sites like YouTube and MySpace.

YouTube and MySpace are phenomenal free traffic drivers. And they’re powerful tools for using the principles of Tribal Marketing. But, due to the nature of the content, and what the Tribes going there are looking for — getting massive amounts of traffic takes more advanced skills of persuasion and portioning.

Frankly, when it comes to making money, the major social networks are not a place for the New Media newbie. Without coaching on how to combine marketing with New Media channels, most business people get dismal results.

This new site however is much more straight forward and is an excellent experiential bridge to getting awesome marketing results on broader based New Media channels.

FreeIQ combines ecommerce with the general concepts of YouTube. Just imagine the site that would result from a partnership between Amazon, YouTube, and Google Search!

OK, so why the heck does this matter to you?

Here’s why, and why you will run over to this site and get started.

It’s not just about making money with your content. This New Media-marketing-education mashup has an affiliate program that allows you to embed video on any site you want, just like YouTube. Big difference is, when a person watches a video then goes to the site and makes a purchase, you get paid!

That’s right… you not only make money off your own content, you get paid for promoting other peoples videos. And we’re not talking about pennies like Revver.com offers. Plus, there’s even an affiliate program that allows you to signup new members and get paid on their efforts for one full year.

Yet there’s an even more important reason for you to take action today. This is a completely unique Web 2.0 mashup. The videos have the latest technology to that will (more…)

New friends, raving fans, and of course — cash! All for FREE! That’s one of the great things about New Media. Marketing with blogs, podcasts, and social networks like MySpace are pushbutton simple with a some basic strategies.

Yet I’ve been blown away with the power and simplicity of Squidoo. 700 visitors and 95 subscribers in under 21-days with barely 60-minutes of effort will tend to make that type of impression on you. :)

A little over a month ago we let you know about one of our coaching members who released an awesome package of strategies and shortcuts all about using Squidoo as a New Media marketing channel. We had been dabbling with Squidoo up till that point using some of Bob’s secrets before he released his course.

But about when Bob launched his program, we decided to follow the exact same steps Bob was lying out for everyone else at SquidooBoost.com.

The Experiment

The lens we decided to focus on for this little experiment is www.squidoo.com/secretsofonlinepersuasion.

Before starting, this lens had a rank within Squidoo of about 15,000. We tracked a few dozen visitors per week coming out of the lens to Advanced Business Blogging. Compared to a pay-per-click rate of 40 to 50-cents, not bad. Especially since we treated this New Media tool the way Grizelda treated Cinderella. (get to work in that dungeon!)

OK, so let’s fast forward 3-weeks.

The Frankenstein-like results

The Secrets of Online Persuasion Squidoo lens is ranked at #16 in business, and #234 out of over 99,000 lenses!

And more importantly, with just 30-minutes of initial adjustments and less than 10-minutes per week in added tweaks (Bob explains why this is essential), we tracked 704 visitors from Squidoo! AND… 95 of those visitors became new subscribers!

new media marketing with squidoo SOP

That’s right! Over 700 site visitors and 95 new subscribers from one free New Media source. Make the same cost analysis against pay-per-click advertising as I mentioned earlier, and we conservatively got $280-$350 in traffic for FREE. Now you can see why I was blown away!

Go check out Secrets of Online Persuasion at Squidoo as yet another example of New Media Marketing.

And participate while you’re there too. Scroll towards the bottom of the page and add your blog or podcast. Or let the world know about your YouTube, Squidoo, or MySpace page. All you need to do to join in the fun is add your URL to the list titled “Show Off Your Online Persuasion Expertise.”

While you’re there let us know what you think by ranking the lens (just hit the little fourth or fifth star right under the header. :)

Then… do yourself a favor and learn the secret inner workings of Squidoo by grabbing at least Bob’s intro level Squidoo course to learn how you can do the same or better than we did with our test.

The really great thing about Squidoo is that you don’t even need a web site or blog to start marketing. If you’re just starting out online, this is a terrific New Media media tool to start with.

Bob didn’t even have a web site and he was featured in an article in the New York Times for his Squidoo lens on beef jerky.

What could you do with Squidoo for your business?

Want your business blog and New Media Marketing to work hard for you?

Well, one of the most important things you can do to get the customers and cash you want using any type of online marketing is to use the right keywords. Keywords that people are already using to find the solutions and services you have to offer.

Yes! Marketing with New Media tools like business blogs, podcasts, tagging, and social networking sites like MySpace allows you to build rapport, branding, and trust like no other online marketing method.

But, let’s face it. If you’re a small business owner, network marketer, or sales professional and you want to attract the most new prospects possible, the easiest way possible — that starts with top search rankings. New Media and blog optimization hinge on keywords just like any other type of online marketing.

Free tools to help select killer keywords for your business blog and New Media Marketing

Three tools for a three-dimensional approach…

    1. Overture’s free keyword research tool

Now a Yahoo! company, Overture is a search marketing service (similar to Google’s AdWords). This free tool is designed to help advertisers select keywords for their Pay Per Click (PPC) campaigns. But it’s a good tool to help optimize your New Media Marketing too by seeing what keywords are popular in paid listings.

Go to keyword selection tool #1

    2. WordTracker’s new keyword selection tool

If you’re a coaching client or in the live BLOG 360 coaching program, you know WordTracker is our favorite tool for doing in-depth keyword research. Only hitch is, it’s not a free service.

Well now WordTracker has released a free keyword selection tool. The results in the tests we ran are quite different than what you’ll get in Overture, which means you’ll get a wider spectrum of top keywords to use in your business blogging and New Media Marketing.

Try out keyword selection tool #2

    3. Keyword Fisher

A totally different twist here with this tool. Where Overture and WordTracker’s free keyword selection tools focus on terms people are searching for, Keyword Fisher collects the keywords your competition is focusing on and tallies them up for you in a report.

Once data collection is complete you’ll have a comprehensive list of keywords and phrases that your competitors have spent their time and money to research!

Now this is not always the most accurate way to select killer keywords for yourself. But it is valuable because it allows you to look at your keyword list from another angle. At the very least, it opens your eyes to other possibilities to test.

Start fishing free here with keyword selection tool #3

And if you’ve found another free keyword selection tool that helps optimize your business blogging and New Media Marketing — share them in a comment below!

Enjoy! :)
